Many of our barriers to what we want to do — our limiting beliefs — are created in a defining moment in our life. We snapshot that moment and internalize the information using our internal filters to interpret and process the information, including:
- Time
- Energy
- Language
- Memory
- Decision-making
- Life programming
- Values
- Beliefs
- Attitudes, etc
Which might empower us going forward or disempowering us and hold us back. Limiting beliefs disempower and are the perceived barriers that prevent us from moving outside of our comfort zone. And because our mind works so fast and processes so much information, that’s how we miss other opportunities to see the situation in a different and potentially more empowering way. That may also mean missing choices — new ideas, actions, emotions, experiences available to us which can create completely different outcomes.
Indicators of limiting beliefs:
- “I need to ….”
- “I must …”
- “I should …”
